SEAN SPANN
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Sean Spann currently serves as Buchanan & Edwards’s Chief Technology Officer. His current responsibilities include leading the strategic development of new capabilities and technology partnerships, fostering and developing innovative solutions for our clients, promoting technology and best practices, and oversight of research and development efforts. Sean works closely with both the corporate development and operations teams to help customers meet the demands of the changing technology landscape. As a member of the executive leadership, Sean helps shape Buchanan & Edwards’s strategic plan and establishes the Buchanan & Edwards technology roadmap and playbook.
Since joining Buchanan & Edwards in 2002, Sean has served in multiple positions over his long career at Buchanan & Edwards, including Director, Program Manager, Project Manager, and multiple architect and lead technical roles. His customers have included the FBI, multiple Department of State bureaus, commercial clients, and State Governments. His efforts have contributed directly to Buchanan & Edwards’s growth in these accounts as well as help Buchanan & Edwards win new customers and expand or develop new capabilities.
Prior to Buchanan & Edwards, Sean was a Manager with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), delivering multi-million dollar CRM, billing, and provisioning systems to telecommunications clients. He began his career as a Program Analyst with the National Institutes of Health.
Sean received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Michigan and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He holds current Project Management Professional, Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Product Owner certifications. He is a subject matter expert in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and multiple products within those markets.
