CASE STUDY

Consolidating Contract Management at the U.S. Department of State

The Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs needed better oversight of contract spending and invoicing. Its legacy systems lacked key metrics, could not keep up with increasing expenditures and offered no insights into unliquidated obligations.

Using the latest cloud-based development and test environments to reduce cost and accelerate development, Buchanan & Edwards developed a centralized contract-management system that automates, accelerates and streamlines the entire contract-management life cycle. By leveraging the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM platform and applying data-driven business processes, the system drives down manual labor, paperwork and late-payment fees while ensuring accuracy, accountability and transparency.
