Buchanan & Edwards and Partners Showcase New Technologies for Federal Clients
Buchanan & Edwards (BE) hosted a private technology information share for many of the company’s federal clients on March 20, 2013 at Tonic Restaurant in Foggy Bottom. The event provided clients an exclusive look at several of BE’s development technologies as well as the solutions of four BE partners—RAMP, Informatica, HP, and AvePoint.
This information share featured eight booths, highlighting new capabilities that BE and its partners are leveraging to meet the evolving needs of federal clients. Each of the solutions fell within four main technology categories:
Cloud Computing:
BE presented the U.S. Department of State International Vacancy Announcement system, an application developed in the cloud using Microsoft Azure, and RAMP demonstrated “Media Cloud,” an enterprise video platform that facilitates quick and easy search of auto-generated text transcripts and video metadata.
Database Performance Management:
The Informatica booth focused on Data Integration, Management and Security, demonstrating how agencies can better access and manage structured and unstructured data, securely and cost-effectively through the information lifecycle.
Mobile Solutions:
BE featured its EM1 application for emergency management and the U.S. Department of State’s Smart Traveler mobile application. HP demonstrated the capabilities of Perfecto, an application that allows remote access of real mobile devices to test applications and usability.
Microsoft SharePoint Solutions:
The SharePoint solutions showcased at the event focused on compliance and governance, two crucial objectives for federal clients. AvePoint demonstrated the capabilities of DocAve Compliance Guardian and DocAve SharePoint Governance, two solutions that manage the appropriate usage and accessibility of documents and information on the SharePoint platform. BE presented one of its most recent successes, the Mission Invoice Processing System (MIPS), which has been deployed for the Regional Financial Management Office, US Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, to manage the approval processing of large amounts of financial data.
