July, 2013 – Arlington, VA
DETAILS:On Friday, June 28, 2013, Buchanan & Edwards (BE) hosted Bring Your Child to Work Day at its corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA. BE is committed to educating our youth and providing our employees with creative ways to engage their children at company events. BE’s goal with this event was that the children left the office with a better understanding of their parents’ careers, and a fun outlook on planning for their futures. BE planned a full schedule for the children, including a variety of interactive and educational activities that taught the children about BE, its services, and the opportunities to pursue career paths that incorporate personal interests. BE CEO, Brian Karlisch, welcomed the children with an introduction to the company. The children then proceeded to learn about the different parts of the company through hands on activities. One activity challenged the children to develop an original business idea as well as design a mobile application, a logo, and a magazine advertisement to support their business. The children ended the day with decorating Georgetown Cupcakes. The children left the event inspired from the variety of team building and knowledge sharing activities. “Our goal was to get the children thinking about their futures in a fun and creative way,” said BE marketing associate, Cassie Self. “It was an added bonus to hear several say that they want to work at BE when they grow up!” Bring Your Child to Work Day was a great success and Buchanan & Edwards looks forward to making it an annual event offered to all employees, both on client site and in the corporate headquarters.
